TURNAT 2013 will be held in Granma, one of the cuban remarkable destinations due to its natural values and to the relevant historical and cultural events performed in there.

Located in the eastern part of Cuba, it shelters in its territory Desembarco del Granma Park, first UNESCO Natural Heritage of Cuba, and Pico Turquino National Park, both with high levels of endemism, biodiversity and preservation.

Granma is truly a set of contrasts, from the Sierra Maestra, Cuba largest mountain range, to  he dark blue of the Caribbean Sea and the fertile plains bathed by the rivers coming from the
elevations.

Desembarco del Granma Park, Natural Heritage of the World
Located in the western part of the Sierra Maestra, this park covers an area of 25 000 ha and it is characterized by beautiful thick walls and vertical slopes well preserved, which are important shelter for autochthonous flora and fauna.

Among its natural values is to be the second and best preserved world exponent of the sea terraces system (emerged and submerged) and to treasure fabulous vertical caves like Hoyo de Morlotte with aboriginals and pictographies remains.

National Park Turquino
Located in the Sierra Maestra mountain range, between Santiago de Cuba and Granma provinces. It is a typical mountain area conformed by a scene of rivers, forests, heights and valleys surrounded by exuberant vegetation that give us the sensation of being on the roof of the island and makes enjoyable the exclusive rural landscape full of a variety of flora and fauna species well preserved. It is considered one of the most important protected areas of Cuba.
In Turquino National Park, the impressive nature and the rich cultural-historical heritage onvey to be the testimony of the most remarkable moments of the Cuban Revolution.
